1948 Douglas T35 · 350cc with a current V5C, on its original reg which is transferrable. Historic, so tax and MOT exempt at this age.
So what we have here is the classic unfinished project. But so much work has been done. Look closely at the pictures and what you will see is fully rebuilt wheels, with new tyres. A new exhausts system. The original tank that has been repaired and re-chromed, that is not a repro tank, that is it’s original tank. the engine has been rebuilt. It starts easily and runs OK. The last owner, due to age and health could not carry on. He was at the stage of needing the tin-ware painting and the bike wiring up. The frame and forks etc have all been painted, so it is just the tin-ware. What you are looking at in affect is the “dry build” stage. But of course the engine is in and running fine. So, all the money has been spent. Think of the costs of rebuilding the engine, all new wheels, new exhausts, repairing and re-chroming the original tank ready to paint. The last owner has spent a lot more on this than I am asking here. He simply could not carry on. So, if you want a bargain, and fancy a bit of a project, but know most of the money has been spent… this might be for you. These are quirky and fun. Log books is here, the bike is running, all the bling is good… very little risk here, it just needs someone handy or who is good at painting. So a very nice fairly easy project to complete. Let’s finish this and get another classic back on the road.
