So, this is a “special” because OK Supreme did not actually fit this engine to machines sold to the public. The engine its self as you can read above is extraordinarily rare and the expert opinion below suggests that the engine alone is basically worth the asking price of the bike. See the two final lines of the expert opinion published in full below. The bike is in essence made up of bits, largely from the period and is a nice machine. The frame is a later Duplex Matchless frame, and as such the bike is actually registered as a Matchless, but with a date of 1935. The rest of the bike is nicely restored and the machine runs good and is good to use as a road going 500cc vintage motorcycle, with a current V5C. Obviously it has been branded as an OK Supreme by the restorer. This is not one to buy if you are an originality nut because technically this machine never existed. Think of it more along the lines of a Triton Café racer.. where the factories never officially produced those either, but that does not prevent them from being extremely popular bikes never the less. This is a Pre War special using a lot of the very best bits available at the time in a similar vein. As you can read below OK Supreme tried them for racing, and a few of these engines were sold to both AJW and Zenith. The numbers in question appear to be extremely limited, so you are buying something extraordinarily rare. Survival rate across the plant appears to be very low.
