1937 O.E.C Atlanta Special. £7,500

1937 OEC Atlanta Special. Current V5C present. Original Buff Log Book and Green logbooks. original registration number transferrable and valuable.

This machine was last on the road in 1976 and has been stood in a shed since. It is unrestored. I have done the minimum to get it running. Here is a short video of the first time it has run in four decades at least:

OK, so this is the last of the Atlanta Specials. Its a 500cc twin port with hairpin valve spring and is in essence the period 500cc Matchless engine. The suspension at the back are not plunger units, they are unique to OEC and are mini swinging arms. This machine carries the standard heavy weight Druid girder forks as opposed to the odd ball steering system OEC offered on other models. This has the full set of deluxe guards which were optional. The down pipes are originals, the silencers are just megas. it needs proper silencers making / finding.

I am not even going to start on about how rare this machine is… but will just say if you don’t like the price, please go and buy the other one that’s advertised for sale…. yes, that’s right folks… there isn’t another. This is a class act with advanced design and is rare with a capital R. Lots more needs doing, lots more.

07718 593259. Located in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. It can arrive at your door for £ 150. by the magic of a courier. It is rough, but its all here and running. You can buy this, or wait for the next one to be advertised…. which might only be another decade… lol.. this would be a really premium Pre War sporting machine if it were restored.
